Blanchard Racing Team, in partnership with sponsor CoolDrive Autoparts, will shine a spotlight on young cancer warriors at the 2025 Sandown 500. Both the Blanchard Racing Team Supercars will feature Kids with Cancer Foundation logos prominently displayed on their roofs.
This initiative continues CoolDrive's longstanding commitment to supporting more than 1000 children diagnosed with cancer each year and their families, CoolDrive recently presented Kids with Cancer Foundation (KWCF) with a $7,500 donation to assist funding across core programs: Financial Assistance for Families; Care Packs 4 Kids; Funding Hospitals; Cancer Research and Wigs4Kids. The donation came from CoolDrive's annual June sales initiative, where a percentage of proceeds was directed to the Kids with Cancer Foundation.
Children diagnosed with cancer and their families undergoing oncology treatment at Monash Children’s Hospital will be special guests at the Sandown 500 including 5-year old Neeom from Melbourne, diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, set to experience the ultimate race day.
Neeom and his family will go behind the scenes at Sandown to visit the Supercars and SuperUtes pit garage, meet drivers James Courtney and Aaron Cameron, as well as SuperUtes driver Jimmy Vernon, sit in the supercars, and soak up the high-octane atmosphere of one of Australia's most iconic motorsport events.
Tim Blanchard, Team Principal and CoolDrive CEO, said: "At CoolDrive, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. Kids with Cancer Foundation does incredible work supporting families through unimaginably difficult times, and we're honoured to use our motorsport platform to raise awareness and funds for their cause. Seeing the smiles on these kids' faces at race day makes everything worthwhile."
James Courtney, who recently announced his retirement at the end of the 2025 season, said: "Racing has given me so much throughout my career, and using that platform to support kids battling cancer is something I'm incredibly proud of. These families show remarkable courage every single day. If we can give them a day of excitement and create some special memories, that's a win bigger than any podium finish."
Aaron Cameron, this year in his Supercars debut, said: "Being part of this initiative is something really special. These kids are the real champions – fighting battles far tougher than anything we face on track. Having them at Sandown and hopefully bringing some joy to their lives is what motorsport community is all about."
The partnership between CoolDrive and Kids with Cancer Foundation has flourished over several years, with the Autoparts company consistently engaged in fundraising efforts while raising vital awareness about childhood cancer. In March 2025, CoolDrive and the Blanchard Racing Team provided a day of respite in Sydney which included three teenage oncology patients enjoying the thrill of hot laps.
The 2025 Sandown 500 takes place 14-16 November 2025 in Melbourne, where fans will see the striking Kids with Cancer Foundation livery as Blanchard Racing Team competes in one of the Supercars Championship's most prestigious Endurance races.
