Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) is proud to announce that James Golding will join its Supercars Championship driver line-up from the 2026 season onwards under a new multi-year agreement. The 29-year-old Victorian will take over the wheel of BRT’s Ford Mustang, replacing veteran James Courtney who is set to retire from full-time competition at the end of 2025. Golding’s signing marks a significant addition to the BRT stable as the team builds toward a competitive 2026 campaign.
Golding brings a wealth of Supercars experience and proven pace with more than 170 race starts to his name, and in 2024 he claimed his maiden Supercars pole position and podium finish. Going on to finish that season an impressive seventh in the championship standings.
Tim Blanchard, Team Principal and co-owner of Blanchard Racing Team
“We’re excited to welcome James to Blanchard Racing Team on a multi-year deal. He’s proven he has the pace and consistency to compete at the top level, and we believe he’s the right driver to take the team to the next level. Securing James gives us stability and a strong platform to continue building, and we’re looking forward to seeing him behind the wheel in 2026.”
Kate Harrington, Team Manager of Blanchard Racing Team
“James strikes that balance of experience, of youth and determination, and we’ve all seen the pace he can deliver. It’s given us the confidence to know he’s the right fit for where we’re heading as a team and that he shares our ambition. I believe he’s got a lot of potential to perform in this environment, and we can’t wait to get him in the car.
James Golding, Driver, Blanchard Racing Team
“I could see the direction the team is heading and it’s an exciting opportunity to be part of building that momentum. BRT is a young team with big potential, and their ambitions align closely with my own. I had other options on the table, but this was the one that I can see success in. I’m looking forward to contributing to that journey and working together to achieve strong results.”
Golding will officially join BRT at the conclusion of the 2025 season, with preparations to begin over the summer ahead of the 2026 season.
